Under the influence of Metropolis, urban expansion and urbanization are the most important urban phenomenon in the major cities of Algeria at the middel of the last century. This situation poses new and multiple problems between the mother city and its areas: functional and environmental problems due to the increasing population movements, profound functional changes both in the mother city and its margins. From this point of view, the issue of suburbanization has become a matter of interest for field leaders (local communities, technical services, public bodies ...) as well as researchers for achieving a sustainable urban intervention.
Hence, due to the urban problems posed by the adopted public policies (vulnerability and fragility of the urban areas, congestion at the entrances of the city, the intensification of horizontal housing ...), it is imperative today to renew our vision of of the city development. Modern urban dynamics and dense spatial organizations have opened up new horizons and approaches in the research on the urban field: Movements, urban structures in new expansions ... These themes constitute basic directions for research team.
